Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
Today marks the opening of the April edition of Camp NaNoWriMo! Now, I’ve never been very successful at Camp. I’ve tried many times over the years with a variety of different goals. And by about Day 3, I’ve usually given up.
NaNoWriMo has been hugely instrumental in getting ideas out of my head and onto paper. The tight deadlines, pressure from my writing group, and general exuberance of the online forums make November highly productive for me. However, in the Camp version, some of that seems to get lost in translation.
However, this year, my writing group is diving in to the fray with me. We have our own cabin. We have weekly check in meetings. And we have a bit of light competitive spirit going. I’m hopeful this year I’ll manage to achieve my Camp goals.
What’s your goal this April? Any tips or tricks you want to share? Let me know in the comments!
Good Luck and Happy Camping!
